What is a Moot?

Mooting is essentially a mock trial complete with legal arguments, court etiquette and a judge. In the Mooting Competition members are given the opportunity to showcase their advocacy skills, progressing all the way to the final, which is judged by an external judge or partners from the sponsoring firm Herbert Smith Freehills. Opportunities such as work experience at the firm or work shadowing are among the prizes given to the best advocates of the competition.
